Poetry From the Heart

When one composes a poem, whose purpose is to record an occurance in their life, it is always a matter of the heart.  Some writers may record a historic happening.  Or wax eloquently over a soft Summers rain.  A moment of joy---a moment of sorrow that only personal growth teaches you that it too is a fleeting thing.  Few things in life are forever no matter what the poets wish us to believe.  But the one thing that is close, is love.  It lasts the longest---and sometimes hurts the most.  Writing a poem about any of lifes experiences seems to smooth out the wrinkles.
